CUSTOM DESIGNS I’VE MADE FOR MYSELF
With a background in fashion design, pattern-making, and construction, I love putting my skills to use by creating custom, one-of-a-kind pieces for my own personal events — because why not make every moment a fashion moment? It’s my favorite way to stay creatively sharp, experiment with new ideas, and of course, share the process (and the fits!) with my community on TikTok. For me, any excuse to design something special is a good one — especially when it involves turning an idea into a wearable moment.
The Process
Sunset on West Palm Beach
When my soon-to-be sister-in-law invited me on her bachelorette trip, I wasn’t planning to make anything — but the second she said the theme for our last night out was “sunset,” I couldn’t resist. I headed straight to Jo-Ann (RIP) and let the fabrics do the talking. As soon as I spotted a gradient mesh, the vision came to life. I pulled trend inspiration from Pinterest, blended a few ideas I loved, and created a one-of-a-kind sunset dress that felt fresh, fun, and totally on theme.
Wedding Guest
I was in a designing groove, so when I got invited to a black-tie wedding, I couldn’t resist the chance to make something special. This time, I started with the silhouette — sketching out the structure and vibe I wanted — and then found the perfect fabric to bring it to life. I may have been sewing on the way to the venue (cutting it very close!), but the dress turned out to be a total success.
The Reference
Denim & Diamonds
I don’t usually find myself at galas or charity events, but when I heard the theme was Denim & Diamonds, I knew I had to go — and I knew exactly what I wanted to wear. Instantly, I pictured the iconic Britney and Justin Canadian Tuxedo moment. So I headed to the thrift store, grabbed as many pairs of jeans as I could carry, and created a denim patchwork dress in under 24 hours. I didn’t have time to make a matching look for my date (and let’s be honest, it was kind of all about my outfit anyway). It was one of those spontaneous, scrappy projects that reminded me how much I love the challenge of turning a fun idea into something totally wearable and unforgettable.
